At True North, we believe that when we come together across diverse faith and spiritual traditions, races, Tribes, cultures, immigration status, ages, and incomes, we can create opportunity for all. By developing the leadership skills of youth, adults, and elders we build collective power for change in our communities.

True North’s leaders are ordinary people doing extraordinary things to improve their communities, schools, congregations, Tribes, neighborhoods and towns across Del Norte, Humboldt, and Tribal Lands.

We’re in a critical moment right now. Families are hurting, people are living in poverty, and the voices of many people in our communities are not being heard. Yet by coming together, listening, and building a collective vision, we can come up with solutions for change.
OUR ORGANIZING MODEL
In order to tackle these issues and improve our communities for all who call the North Coast home, True North facilitates community organizing efforts in our region. We provide resident leaders with the tools, coaching and infrastructure needed to create systemic change.
True North uses an organizing model called The Arc of Organizing, developed by the PICO National Network. This style of organizing is designed to support ongoing, long-term work and promote sustainability.
